The Project Review Meeting with PMU and PMC for DMUs’ and ADMUs’

The Project Review Meeting with PMU and PMC for DMUs’ and ADMUs’ was organized by PMU on 19th February 2020 at the Conference Hall of Forest Office Complex, Kohima. Shri. Meyipokyim Aier PD (AF & P) welcomed all the participants in the Review Meeting. A brief introduction of the project was presented by Shri. Vasu Mitra Arora (Team Leader PMC) citing the Objectives, Processes and Institution of the project. The PMC experts who gave powerpoint presentation includes Mr.Jayesh Bhatia (Forestry Expert), Dr. Arun Mani Dixit (Forest Management Cum Biodiversity Expert), Mr. Shailesh Nagar (Monitoring and Evaluation), Mr. Pravanjan Mohapatra (Capacity Building Expert), Mr.Anurag Gupta(MIS Expert). Shri.Supongnukshi IFS PD (HRD) gave a brief introduction of the project and also welcomed the Officials from Agri Department led by Dr..Amenla Jt.Director who had been invited to attend the Review Meeting. Smti.Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS gave a short presentation on behalf of PRC(NTC) on Capacity Building, Awareness Generation and Training and pointed out that there was a lack of monitoring in the fields/ nurseries from DMU and FMU level. After assessment of the field it was also found that training was needed on the following areas:

  1. Field training on nursery management for FMU/JFMCs of Batch I and Batch II villages.
  2. Micro-plan preparatory works for Village Councils/JFMC, NGOs, and FMU teams.
  3. Training on intervention areas/Maps/GPS coordinates.

These trainings are required so as to build up capacity for the FMU heads

Shri Vedpal Singh IFS,  PD (I.M &,E), summed up the report of all division highlighting a few points on the reports presented by DMUs. Taking the opportunity he also shared his experience about his visit to Japan and proposed an alternative for poly bags with plastic sheet wraps which are easy to get and reusable and a better alternative for poly bags. Shri. Meyipokyim Aier, IFS PD (A F &P) gave presentation on accounting procedures.

            Shri.Dharmendra Prakash CPD cum CEO NFMP ended the review meeting with a vote of thanks and said that the support of all DMU and FMU was highly appreciated and that as the projects is at the end of its third year more results need to be seen in the fields and that all timelines need to be adhered to.
