The 3rdMeeting of High Power Committee (HPC)

The 3rdMeeting of High Power Committee (HPC), Nagaland Forest Management Project Society was held under the Chairmanship of Shri. Temjen Toy, IAS Chief Secretary to Govt. of Nagaland and Chairman High Power Committee at 10:30 AM on 26th March 2020, in the Conference Hall, New Secretariat, Kohima.

            The opening remarks was delivered by Shri. Lhoubeilatuo Kire, IFS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Environment Forest and Climate Change, and PCCF & HoFF cum Member Secretary, High Power Committee where he emphasised about the importance of the project and also commented on the satisfactory progress.

            Shri. Dharmendra Prakash, IFS, Chief Project Director, NFMP gave an overview of the Project. He briefed about the progress of implementation phase, including inter alia the activities of nursery works in 31 villages, Advance works, Entry Point Activity, Water Harvesting Structure, Setting up functionality of GIS Lab, Completion of building construction and occupation by field functionaries, preparation of GIS based treatments maps, use of GeM portal for all procurements including vehicles, progress of reimbursement claims. He also highlighted the completion of the process to recruit the Contractual Support Staff both in PMU and DMU. He informed the members that the PMC has been mobilised and joined NFMP on the 3rd Nov.’2019 and started working on various manuals and guidelines.

 

Concluding Remarks by Chairman:           

HPC appreciated the use of GeM portal for all procurements including vehicles. Chairman noted the quick and efficient manner in reimbursement status and expressed satisfaction. He also appreciated the performance audit observations by AG for quality works of construction of building and maintenance of records by the Field functionaries and congratulated its entire team of Officials working with NFMP. He also expressed satisfaction on the performance of PMC for preparation of various manuals; guidelines and field visits carried out by them.

Chairman emphasised that PMU with the assistances of PMC need to put in best effort & think out of box to make the project success and evolve best practices and work towards sustainability of such practices so that it will alleviate the socio economic condition of the rural Nagas.

The Annual Report 2018-19 was released at the hands of Chairman, HPC NFMPS.

The meeting concluded with vote of thanks to the chair and all the members present by Shri. Supongnukshi, Project Director (HRD).
